The A63 runs south from Bordeaux through the Landes pine forest, past Bayonne and Biarritz, then crosses the border at Hendaye/Irún before reaching San Sebastián. Count 3h30 in normal conditions and up to 4h15 on summer Saturdays. We include a 15-minute comfort stop, usually near Bayonne, and can add a longer break on the Basque coast on request.

Bilbao airport (BIO) has long-haul and Spanish domestic routes that Bordeaux lacks, so many travellers combine a Bordeaux stay with a BIO departure. We drop you at the terminal door and, on the return, meet you at arrivals with a name sign and 60 minutes of free waiting.
Biarritz for the Grande Plage and the Rocher de la Vierge, Bayonne for the old town and its chocolate houses, Saint-Jean-de-Luz for the harbour, or Hossegor for the surf. Adding a one-hour stop costs €40; a longer half-day stop is quoted individually.
